CABSE is proud to celebrate a major milestone—our 10th Annual Education Conference! Join us October 15–17 as educators, leaders, advocates, and changemakers from across California and the nation come together for an unforgettable three-day experience dedicated to advancing Black student excellence.

This year's powerful theme, From Barriers to Breakthroughs, reflects both our journey and our collective commitment to accelerating transformational change. Conference sessions will showcase the latest research, promising practices, and bold strategies that are helping dismantle barriers and create lasting breakthroughs for Black students.

Attendees will also take a deep dive into Blueprint 2.0 and the newly launched Blueprint for Black Student Excellence in Mathematics—two groundbreaking frameworks designed to help educational leaders drive systemic improvement and achieve equitable outcomes through intentional action.

Whether you joined us for Parts I and II in Napa or are participating for the first time, you won't want to miss this next installment. This session builds upon previous learning while providing valuable stand-alone content, ensuring every trustee leaves with practical strategies to strengthen their leadership and governance.

Participants will deepen their understanding of the board's critical role in adopting and sustaining High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) while examining how governance decisions influence student achievement, instructional quality, and educational equity. Through engaging discussion, real-world scenarios, and practical governance tools, board members will strengthen their capacity to lead with confidence as they navigate curriculum adoption, budgeting, staffing, professional learning, facilities, and student safety.
